三仲丁基硼氢化锂是一种高选择性的强还原剂。用于酮的非对称选择还原得到醇，也可用于烯酮的1、4共轭加成还原得到酮或醇，用于选择性还原环外丙烯腈衍生物的共轭双键和碘化物。用于二酯、脱卤单环嘧啶、重排5-三甲基甲硅烷基蒂巴因和脱保护的N-甲氧羰基的阿片样物质取代N-非阿片类反应中，它也是一种有效的去对称内消旋试剂。在低温条件下可有效还原共轭羰基化合物。
This product is an exceptionally powerful and highly stereoselective reducing agent .It has been used for the diastereoselective reduction of the ketones to give the alcohol,selective 1-reduction of the enones by conjugate addition of hydride to afford ketones or alcohols,conjugate reduction of exocyclic acrylonitrile derivatives,reduction of the double bond and iodide.It has slso been found to be an efficient reagent for the desymmetrization of meso-diesters,dehalogenation of monohalopyridenes,rearrangement of 5-trimethylsilythebaine and deprotection of N-carbomethoxy-substituted opioids to N-noropioids.At low temperatures,it can reduce conjugated carbonyl compounds effectively.
